Biography

Originally from Morganville, NJ, Glenn Einschlag began his appointment as principal bassoon of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in September of 1999.He has performed with such ensembles as the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Boston Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra. As a soloist, Mr. Einschlag has played numerous solo recitals as well as various concerti with the Ars Nova Chamber Orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra. In June of 2007, Mr. Einschlag performed the Francaix bassoon concerto and a recital at the annual conference of the International Double Reed Society in Ithaca, New York.

As an avid chamber musician, Mr. Einschlag has participated in many music festivals including those of Aspen, Tanglewood, Spoleto (USA), and Domaine Forget where he became heavily influenced by the noted bassoon pedagogue Norman Herzberg. He has studied at such schools as The Juilliard School, The Curtis Institute of Music, and The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University where he was awarded a Master of Music degree under the tutelage of Benjamin Kamins.
