Program Information
Dohnányi - Symphonic Minutes Dohnányi- Suite in F# minor Grieg - Piano Concerto in A minor
JoAnn Falletta leads the BPO beginning with two offerings by Hungarian composer Ernst von Dohnányi. The first, Symphonic Minutes, is a charming set of poignant miniatures, followed by Dohnányi's Suite in F minor, a classical collage with variations, a scherzo and jovial rondo. After intermission, the Orchestra will be joined by pianist Enrica Ciccarelli in a soulful performance of Grieg's resounding Piano Concerto in A minor, a work that paints a picture of Norwegian beauty.
