Catherine Estes
Catherine Estes joined the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in 2005. Originally from England, She
received her Master's Degree from the Eastman School of Music where she
studied with Richard Killmer and her Bachelor's Degree from the
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where her teacher was Daniel
Stewart. Her first orchestral position was principal oboist of
the Billings Symphony in Montana, where she spent four seasons. A
one-year position in New Orleans as second oboist of the Louisiana
Philharmonic followed. She has performed with the Rochester
Philharmonic, Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra and the Britt Festival
Orchestra. Summer festivals include the National Repertory Orchestra,
Ohio Light Opera Orchestra, and the festivals of Aspen and Banff. She
lives in Allentown with her husband Ron and enjoys teaching private
students and performing with the Buffalo Chamber Players.
