Celesta Naming Contest
We’re so excited to debut our new celesta, the latest addition to our musical family, at our holiday concerts – and we need YOUR help to name it! Join our naming contest for a chance to win 4 tickets to WNY’s #1 holiday tradition: Holiday Pops with John Morris Russell.
Here’s how to enter:
- Think of a name for the instrument. If you need inspiration, the celesta has a bell-like sound often described as “heavenly” (you might recognize it from the main theme of Harry Potter).
- Enter your name ideas by submitting the form below. A maximum of 3 entries are allowed per participant. Submissions close at 11am on Monday, December 11.
- The winning name will be decided by a panel of three judges and announced on Monday, December 11. Our judges are:
- Fernanda Lastra, our illustrious Assistant Conductor
- Susan Schuman, our amazing pianist who is playing the celesta for its debut
- Brenda Turteltaub, Board Member, storyteller, and great cheerleader for the BPO
- We’ll contact the winner to collect their prize: 4 tickets to a Holiday Pops performance, December 14-17.
- Should the chosen winning name be submitted by multiple individuals, the prize winner will be selected through a random draw.
Thank you for helping us welcome this brand-new member of the orchestra, and a special thank you to the instrument’s anonymous donor for this generous gift.
Submit your name choice through the form below. Good luck!
