Richardson Olmsted Campus, 9:00 pm | Free
To celebrate the successful completion of the first phase of redevelopment and thank the community for their support, the Richardson Olmsted Campus and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra will present a celebratory light show and concert: enLIGHTen.
enLIGHTen will feature a concert performed by your BPO and conducted by JoAnn Falletta. The light show is created by Projex with artistic direction by Keith Harrington. The concert will spotlight the historical function of the Richardson as a place of healing by featuring music by famous composers who lived with mental illness and created great works, including Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Handel, among others.
The BPO will perform on the renewed South Lawn while a custom-designed light show is projected onto the face of the Richardson. The light show will be projected onto the front and left side of the Towers Building. Pick a spot where you can see both sides for the best view of the show. The light show will be designed by local artist Keith Harrington to highlight architectural elements and history of the site.
Grounds open at 7 PM for this 9 PM event. Sorry, but for safety reasons, pets will not be admitted to enLIGHTen.
Thank you to our sponsors:
enLIGHTen is sponsored by M&T Bank.
The BPO’s performance is made possible through a Regional Economic Development Council Arts Implementation grant from the New York State Council for the Arts with additional support from the Ralph C. Wilson Legacy Funds at the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, Iroquois Bar Corporation and National Grid. Buffalo Rising is the media sponsor of this event.
