CANCELED: Mozart and the Divine

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday, March 12 that all gatherings of more than 500 people will be prohibited. As such, all events at Kleinhans Music Hall are postponed until further notice. Details are still in development. Check back soon.

Mozart returns to the Classics season with his delightful Piano Concerto No. 23, masterfully played by young artist Ray Ushikubo, who made his BPO debut on last year’s Pops season opener. Mozart’s inspiration, Johann Sebastian Bach, takes a turn with his gallant “St. Anne Prelude & Fugue” transcribed for full orchestra. The performance concludes with Scriabin’s mystical  Symphony No. 3, “The Divine Poem.” A triplet of Baroque, Classical and Romantic masters, perfect for both a first-timer and a seasoned music appreciator. JoAnn Falletta conducts.

Come at 9:30 AM on Friday for complimentary coffee and doughnuts. On Saturday, come at 7 PM to hear directly from the artists in “Musically Speaking,” hosted by JoAnn Falletta.
