The BPO has a number of exciting volunteer opportunities available. Positions include gift shop workers, drivers, ushers, administrative work, fundraising activities and assistance with special events.
BPO volunteer drivers: Help the BPO and meet our guest artists by:
- Picking the artists up at the airport, or taking them to the airport for their return flight
- Driving the artist to or from their rehearsals
- Driving the artist to or from their concerts
BPO volunteer drivers are rewarded with complimentary tickets, subject to current policy.

The Buffalo Philharmonic performs Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons, with the occasional Friday morning and evening.
Your job will include:
Escorting people to their seats
Ensuring that later arrivals do not disturb the performance
Assisting those with special needs
Answering any questions patrons may have

Friends of the BPO:
A volunteer organization including ushers and drivers which supports the BPO by staffing and organizing the gift shop, lobby greeters, and coat check; providing administrative and concert support; and serving coffee at the Friday morning concerts.They also host fundraising events such as the Joy of Music and Wine, plant sale, and fashion shows. Volunteers are welcome as leaders and workers for all types of support activities. What happens behind the scenes of a world-class symphony orchestra? Interns will learn how the BPO markets and sells the concerts, how education programs are developed, and how those large donations become a reality.
