Second Violin

Lisa Jihyeon Kim is a multifaceted violinist who brings the beauty of the violin’s sound to life, enjoying a versatile solo and chamber music career throughout New York. Lisa’s international appearances include Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and the Kammermusiksaal at the Philharmonie Berlin by receiving guidance from Walter Küssner and Gregory Sigl in Berlin. She has also performed at the Solitär hall of University Mozarteum, Kumho Art Hall, Seoul Arts Center, and Lotte Concert Hall.

Lisa has had the privilege of collaborating and performing at events such as the Robert Mann String Quartet Institute, the 15th International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, the Kumho Chamber Concert Series, the Balsam Duo Competition, the TV program Lesson of SNU, and on Classic FM 89.5.

She has won many prestigious competitions, including the Odin International Music Competition as soloist in Alban Berg’s Kammerkonzert, The Strad Competition, Seoul Virtuosi Competition, Charleston Competition, Chaos Competition, and Universal Harmony Concours Competition. Lisa has participated in numerous masterclass series with esteemed artists such as David Chan, Nurit Bar-Josef, the Danish String Quartet, Misha Amory, Koichiro Harada, Andrej Bielow, Ruben Aharonian, Simon James, Stefan Jackiw, Clara-Jumi Kang, Boris Brovtsyn, Hyuk Joo Kwun, the Modigliani Quartet, and the Esmé Quartet.

Lisa has studied under the tutelage of Pinchas Zukerman, Patinka Kopec, David Chan, Lisa Kim, Nicholas Mann, David Geber, Peter Winograd, and William Wolfram.
