Middle & High School Programming

Middle & High School

Providing opportunities for young musicians.

The BPO is proud to present educational programming accessible to all students through live concerts, in-school programs, and digital resources. Each year we work to ensure that our programs introduce students to the best orchestral repertoire, focus on music learning concepts being taught in the school classroom, encourage active participation through interactive program elements, and provide an engaging and memorable experience.

All patrons over the age of 12 who attend BPO performances at Kleinhans Music Hall will be required to provide proof of vaccination and identification at every performance. Children age 12 and under must show proof of a recent negative test for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination will also be accepted for children ages 5-11.

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra hosts incredible guest artists each year. Now we are making many of these masters available to the community in an intimate learning experience. Select artists work one-on-one with local students in front of a live audience.

Young Musician Scholarships

The Friends of the BPO Volunteers and the Buffalo Chamber Music Society partner each year to award the Young Musician Scholarships and the Silverman String Scholarships. We are also pleased to offer the Yadzinski Scholarship for the Arts in partnership with The Yadzinski Foundation in memory of Edward I. Yadzinski .

Side by Side Concerts

In separate concerts, the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra and Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts join the BPO for a mentoring experience that culminates in a joint performance on stage at Kleinhans Music Hall.
