Learn Before You Listen
We offer a variety of enlightening and engaging ways to learn before you listen for the best possible concert experience.
Musically Speaking Pre-concert Talks
Our Musically Speaking series takes place one hour prior to each weekend Classics concert on Saturday evenings at 6:30pm and Sunday afternoons at 1:30pm. Join a guest speaker in the main hall for a discussion of the performance. Hear in-depth information that will help frame the concert and enrich your listening experience.
Final Notes Post-concert Q&A
For the concerts listed below, complete the evening with a post-concert question-and-answer session with the maestro and musicians, for the last word on the performance.
Sat Nov 6 – Grieg Piano Concerto
Sat Nov 20 – Gershwin & Barber
Sat Jan 15 – New World Symphony
Sat Feb 19 – Classical Fireworks
Sat Mar 19 – Tchaikovsky & The Mermaid
For Classics performances, just prior to the performance date, we will e-mail pre-concert notes to all ticket holders for whom we have an e-mail address on file, providing detailed insight on the composers and works being performed. These notes are also posted as part of our digital program book, available at bpo.org/program.
