Volunteer Opportunities
The BPO has a number of exciting volunteer opportunities available. Positions include gift shop attendants, drivers, ushers, administration, fundraising, and assistance with special events. Learn more about volunteering at the BPO, and fill out our application form below!
BPO Ushers & Lobby Services
Volunteer to be a BPO usher, lobby greeter, ticket taker and coat check attendant — flexible hours and free BPO performances!
The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra performs Friday mornings, Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons, with the occasional weekday morning for education concerts and weeknight for special events.
Usher responsibilities include:
- Escorting patrons to their seats
- Ensuring that later arrivals do not disturb the performance
- Assisting those with special needs
- Answering any questions patrons may have

BPO Volunteer Drivers
Meet our guest artists and help the BPO by:
- Picking artists up at the airport, or taking them to the airport for their return flight
- Driving the artist to or from their rehearsals
- Driving the artist to or from their performances
BPO volunteer drivers are rewarded with complimentary tickets, subject to current policy.

Friends of the BPO
Friends of the BPO is a volunteer organization that supports the BPO by staffing and organizing volunteer shuttle attendants, drivers and gift shop attendants. Friends of the BPO also offers administrative and concert support, and provides volunteers to serve coffee at the Friday morning concerts. In addition, the organization hosts fundraising events, like the annual favorite The Joy of Music and Wine, as well as flower and plant sales, fashion shows, and more. Volunteers are welcome as leaders and workers for all types of support activities.
