Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers at Kleinhans Music Hall play an essential role in supporting performances by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and guest musicians from around the world. They contribute through ushering at events, providing transportation for guests, and assisting with fundraising efforts. Our volunteer program includes flexible hours, ticket discounts, and opportunities to see performances!
The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra performs Friday mornings, Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, with the occasional weekday morning for Education Concerts and weeknights for special events.

BPO Ushers & Lobby Services
Working alongisde Kleinhans Music Hall staff, Volunteer Ushers help create the best possible experience for Patrons by performing a variety of operational duties and maintaining a high standard of concert etiquette. Their efforts support Staff in delivering high-quality experiences for all.
Usher duties include:
- Greeting
- Seating
- Taking tickets
- Storing coats
- Assisting guests throughout the Lobby and Hall

BPO Volunteer Drivers
Meet our guest artists and assist the Orchestra by:
- Picking artists up at/taking artists to the airport
- Driving the artist to or from their rehearsals
- Driving the artist to or from their performances
BPO volunteer drivers are rewarded with complimentary tickets, subject to current policy.

Friends of the BPO
Friends of the BPO is a volunteer organization that supports the BPO by staffing and organizing volunteer Shuttle Attendants, Drivers and Gift Shop Attendants. Friends of the BPO also offer administrative and concert support, such as serving coffee at the Friday morning concerts. In addition, the organization hosts fundraising events, including flower and plant sales, fashion shows, and more. Volunteers are welcome as leaders and workers for all types of support activities.
