The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra welcomes members of the World Doctors Orchestra and other international medical organizations to a unique side-by-side musical experience. After hosting this program in 2014, 2016 and 2018, we are thrilled to bring it back in 2024!
Doctor musicians are treated to an intensive schedule of rehearsals and coachings with BPO musicians and conductors. A final side-by-side concert at Kleinhans Music Hall will take place on Wednesday evening, November 6th, conducted by our world renowned Music Director, JoAnn Falletta, and will be open to the public.

Why BPO?
The Grammy Award-winning Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra under the leadership of music director JoAnn Falletta presents more than 120 concerts each year, and has a discography of over 60 recordings that can be heard in broadcasts around the world. Since 1940, the orchestra’s permanent home has been Kleinhans Music Hall, a National Historic Site with an international reputation as one of the finest concert halls in the United States.
Why Buffalo?
In addition to being home to the internationally recognized Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Buffalo also boasts incredible art museums like the newly reinvigorated AKG Art Museum and the Burchfield Penney Art Center; historically important architecture such as Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin Martin House; wonderful restaurants and bars, and a close proximity to one of the wonders of the world, Niagara Falls. Schedule:
Sunday, November 3 – arrival day and welcome reception at 5pm
Monday, November 4 – rehearsals and coaching (lunch provided), optional sightseeing/social activities
Tuesday, November 5 – rehearsals and coaching (lunch provided), optional sightseeing/social activities
Wednesday, November 6 – dress rehearsal (lunch provided) and concert, optional sightseeing/social activities
Thursday, November 7 – departure day or sightseeing day
Hotel Accommodations:
We have reserved a block of rooms at the beautiful Richardson Hotel, a National Historic Landmark, which is about 2 miles from Kleinhans Music Hall and is located across the street from the AKG Museum and the Burchfield Penney Art Center.

This block of rooms will be released on September 20th, so please book before that time. If you would like to book additional nights before or after our program, please make a separate reservation (it will be a different price) and then let the hotel know to link your reservations together.
Fee for Participation:
$1,000
This fee helps us cover costs for rehearsals, coachings, the concert, use of Kleinhans Music Hall, several lunches, a welcome reception and a post-concert reception.
We have a few spots left in the following sections: viola, cello, bass, oboe, French horn, percussion and harp. Once accepted, a down payment of $250 will be required to secure your spot.
