Recently named the third favorite orchestra in the world (in a poll conducted by Bachtrack) the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra is playing an important role in the international music scene – recording artist! One of the BPO’s most distinctive traits is the orchestra’s work to produce recordings of outstanding repertoire under the baton of JoAnn Falletta. In the past decade, the BPO has won two Grammy Awards and has been nominated numerous other times. 

The recordings we do are part of a concrete strategy to build the artistry of our orchestra and to gain worldwide acclaim.  However, the process of recording is expensive and, unlike days past, there are no royalties to speak of.  That is why sponsorships are so vital. 

In an effort to help secure this legacy on an annual basis, the BPO has formed the Recording Arts Society.  Money raised through this group will be used solely for the purposes of our recording projects and the membership fee will be in addition to a gift to the Annual Fund. Without this special support, the BPO cannot guarantee future recordings.

  • A special gift set of 10 BPO CDs, including selections on the NAXOS label, as well as the BPO’s own Beau Fleuve label

Student Level – $75 membership fee

  • Advance copies of all BPO future recordings
  • Invitation to meet recording engineers and staff for a behind-the-scenes look at a recording session
  • Invitation to an annual meeting to discuss upcoming recording projects with JoAnn Falletta and key musicians (TBD)
