Steve Swift joined HealthNow New York Inc. in February 2009, as the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In his position with HealthNow, which had revenue of $2.5 billion in 2012, Mr. Swift is responsible for the company’s overall financial operations (including finance, actuarial, pricing, underwriting and medical economics departments), health care fraud investigation units, corporate claims operations and information technology.
Mr. Swift brings an outstanding level of operational knowledge and experience gained at the national level within the health insurance industry. Prior to HealthNow, he served as Chief Financial Officer for AmeriChoice, where he was responsible for the financial oversight of this $6+ billion business segment of UnitedHealth Group specializing in the Medicaid market. His responsibilities included internal performance reporting and operating results for over 2 million members within 20 States.
Prior to his role with AmeriChoice, Mr. Swift was Chief Financial Officer, Mid-Atlantic Region, for CIGNA Healthcare, Inc. In this role, he oversaw the financial operations and performance for this seven-state region. He earned this position after several successful years in roles of increasing responsibility with the company.
A certified public accountant since 1983, Mr. Swift earned a bachelor of science in business administration degree with an accounting major from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Kansas.
Mr. Swift serves as an active member on the board of directors for: The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, The Buffalo Zoo, Junior Achievement of Western New York and Say Yes Buffalo Scholarship Board. Stephen Swift President
