Enhance Your Experience

Learn Before You Listen

We offer a variety of enlightening and engaging ways to learn before you listen for the best possible concert experience.

Musically Speaking Pre-concert Talks

Our Musically Speaking series takes place one hour prior to each weekend Classics concert on Saturday evenings at 6:30pm and Sunday afternoons at 1:30pm. Join a guest speaker in the main hall for a discussion of the performance. Hear in-depth information that will help frame the concert and enrich your listening experience.

Musician’s Nightcap

An engaging, intimate look at the world behind the music in an informal post-concert gathering with complimentary wine and bites. BPO double bassist Jonathan Borden will host discussions with fellow orchestra members and patrons for an inside opportunity to hear stories, ask questions, and learn about the life of professional orchestra musicians.

Following these select Saturday concerts:
Mahler & Mahler – Sat Nov 8
Uptown Nights with Byron Stripling – Sat Jan 31
Dancing & Romancing – Sat Feb 28
Brahms & Bruch – Sat Mar 21
Haydn Cello Concerto – Sat May 9

Program Notes

For Classics performances, just prior to the performance date, we will e-mail pre-concert notes to all ticket holders for whom we have an e-mail address on file, providing detailed insight on the composers and works being performed. These notes are also posted as part of our digital program book, available at bpo.org/program.
