Performance Policies
Backstage Access
Backstage access after a performance is strictly controlled. If you would like to see one of the performers, please present yourself at the stage door at the end of the performance. After a 10-minute waiting period, the house manager will be notified if and when access is available.
Booster Seats
Booster Seats are available to our patrons at our Coat Check by the Porter Ave. entrance, free of charge. Please note that availability may be limited.
Box Office
The Box Office is located at Kleinhans Music Hall, at 3 Symphony Circle, Buffalo, NY, 14201, by the Porter Ave. entrance. Regular hours can be found at bpo.org/boxoffice.

Coat Check
Coat Check is available by the Porter Ave. entrance for many events, weather dependent and is available at no charge. Donations are greatly appreciated.
Concessions
The Kleinhans Music Hall bar, located in the lobby and, for select events, the balcony lobby, serves soft drinks, coffee, tea, water, beer, wine, and mixed drinks prior to concerts and events and during intermission. Some packaged snacks are also available.
Any beverages brought inside the main hall must be in a Kleinhans approved cup, available for purchase at the bar. Kindly note that no food is allowed in the main hall.
Electronics, Photography, Video
Photos and video are permitted before and after performances, and during intermission. However, recording of performances is strictly prohibited, as it is not only distracting to those around you but also a violation of the performer, publisher, and licensor contracts. Anyone caught recording or taking pictures during a concert may have their device confiscated, be asked to leave, and/or have the content deleted from their device.
Please be sure to turn off all electronic devices that may disrupt the performance or your fellow patrons.
Weapons and Firearms
Kleinhans Music Hall is a weapon-free zone. Firearms and weapons of any kind are prohibited. This includes but is not limited to: firearms, ammunition, knives, swords, scissors, pepper spray, and any dangerous items, laser pointers, demonstration signs, noise-making devices, and fireworks.
First Aid
Medical assistance is available at all performances and events. Please notify an usher or any staff member if you need medical assistance. Three AED devices are also located on the premises.
Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning System
The newly upgraded HVAC system at Kleinhans uses MERV-13 air filtration systems.
Hearing Assistance
Augmentative hearing devices are available at our Coat Check by the Porter Ave. entrance, free of charge. Noise-muffling headphones are also available at the Coat Check at no charge. Please note that availability may be limited.
Late Arrivals
Patrons arriving after the performance begins will be seated at the discretion of the house manager. Seating will not be until the first suitable break or at intermission, and late seating may not be in the purchased location.
Lost and Found
Items found before, during, or after an event should be turned in to any usher or staff member. All items found in the hall will be held at the coat check during the performance.
All items will be held for 30 calendar days. After 30 days, IDs and credit cards will be shredded. All other items will be donated to charity or disposed of at the discretion of management if not claimed. Kleinhans Music Hall management assumes no responsibility for any lost or damaged items.
After an event, patrons can submit a lost & found form at kleinhansbuffalo.org/lost-found.
Mobile Ticketing
We are pleased to offer mobile ticketing for events, providing a faster, more secure and eco-friendly experience. Tickets can be viewed online or added to your Apple or Google Wallet to display before the event. Tickets can still be printed at home using a regular printer, if preferred. Parking
There are two lots located at the hall. Parking costs $10 for most events and is cash only. Accessible spots are also available.
Parking in Kleinhans’ parking lots is restricted to patrons of Kleinhans Music Hall. The facility is not responsible and expressly does not assume responsibility for loss or damage by fire, storm, theft, or accident to any person or vehicle, or for any loss or damage to articles left in vehicles. Articles left in vehicle at owner’s risk.
Should the lots fill up, there is ample street parking on the streets surrounding the hall.
There is a bike rack located on Porter Ave. along the sidewalk by the parking lot entrance.
If you are using a ride-sharing app, please use 3 Symphony Circle as the address for pick-up and drop-off.
If you are taking the NFTA-Metro, the #22 bus line stops directly in front of the hall.
FREE Shuttle Service from D’Youville University: Park and ride from D’Youville University (260 Connecticut St.)* for SELECT Saturday night BPO performances. The lot is less than a quarter of a mile away from the hall, and the shuttle provides a quick and easy way to get to the hall without walking. Parking and shuttle service are free of charge for BPO patrons. Shuttle service begins at 6PM and ends 30 minutes after the conclusion of the concert.
Refunds & Exchanges
Subscribers receive the benefit of exchanging tickets between most performances within the current season. (Certain restrictions and/or upgrade fees may apply.) No refunds or exchanges are available on single ticket purchases. If you have purchased single tickets for a concert you are unable to attend, you may give your tickets to a friend or donate your tickets to the box office for resale.
Security
To enhance the safety and security of our guests, staff, and artists, the following procedures will be followed:
- Security staff are available at all times, please notify an usher or staff member if you need assistance.
- Walk-through metal detection screening process is in effect for all patrons. Purses and bags are subject to inspection upon entering the venue and at any time while on the property.
- Backpacks and large purses are not permitted. All bags larger than 14″x14″x6″ are not permitted. Clear bags and smaller handbags are recommended.
- Exceptions: medically necessary items and diaper bags.
- Firearms and weapons of any kind are prohibited.
- Smoking of any kind is prohibited in the building; this includes electronic cigarettes and vapes.
- Patrons are encourage to leave non-essential items and large purses and bags at home or safely secured in a vehicle. Please ensure you lock your vehicle and keep valuables, bags, and purses out of view.
- Outside food and drink are prohibited. Beverages in Kleinhans approved cups are permitted inside the hall and are available for purchase at concessions.

Large print repertoire pages for BPO performances are available at coat check.
Wheelchair Access
There are wheelchairs available at the hall for patrons to use. Please ask any usher or staff member for assistance. Please note that availability may be limited.
While both entrances are fully accessible, patrons may wish to be dropped off next to the building on the Pennsylvania side for easy access to the Hall. Accessible parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Please notify the attendant upon arriving of your needs. Our staff is here to ensure you arrive safely and comfortably.
Wheelchair-accessible seating is located on the main floor. Please note, there is no elevator to the balcony level. To purchase accessible seating, please call our Box Office at (716) 855-5000 and acknowledge that you or a member of your party requires accessible seating or if purchasing tickets online, purchase tickets in row DD.
