Enigma Variations

Your BPO is delighted when we can present the most famous of English compositions, Elgar’s loving miniature portraits of his family and friends, always witty and radiant. Kodály’s oft-neglected symphony conjures up nostalgia for his Eastern European homeland, and the theme of love carries through to David Ludwig’s celebratory concerto written for his new wife, violinist Bella Hristova, about the ritual of marriage.

Program

JoAnn Falletta, conductor
Bella Hristova, violin
